After nearly four decades of excellent service to Binghamton University - State University of New York, Dr. George J. Klir, Distinguished Professor of Systems Science, is going to retire.  Dr. Klir’s work has had a significant impact on various areas including uncertainty modeling, information theory, and general systems theory. On the occasion of Dr. Klir’s retirement, Binghamton University is organizing a Mini Symposium “Uncertainty and Information in Systems.” The Mini Symposium will consist of talks by invited speakers who are distinguished leading authorities in the field. The talks will address the past, the present, and the future of various aspects of uncertainty and information in systems. Papers based on these talks will be published in a special issue of the International Journal of General Systems.
